Dawson Digital Productions extends our congratulations to our friends at Blue Horse and Trumpet for receiving a Gold Hermes Award for their recent Public Service Announcement created for The Human Development Foundation in San Diego. Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies, web based innovators and freelancers. Hermes Creative Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The international organization consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production, web and free-lance professionals. The Association oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and sets standards for excellence. Working with director Karl Backus from Blue Horse and Trumpet, Dawson Digital Productions, Inc. helped Mr. Backus create a 30 Second Television Public Service Announcement spot for the Human Development Foundation.
The spot ran on local Cox Cable and Time Warner Cable affiliates in San Diego in the winter of 2007.
"They Say I'm Smart" follows the journey of a young boy as he crosses through the dangers of his neighborhood to get to school. The focus of the message in the piece is that through a good education a child can grow beyond his surroundings and become something special. Blue Horse and Trumpet also won a Hermes Award for their work with the YWCA on printed promotional items.
